Brown leather journal, magic grimoire - Ouroboros

This book is bound in natural brown leather which was hand painted and aged with patina to achieve an antique look. The decoration was made by using raised elements as well as stamped and tooled onto the leather, which gives the book a tri-dimensional feel. It has the look of a magic, occult old book.  

The symbol in the center of the cover is the Ouroboros, the serpent eating its own tale, which symbolizes cyclicality and the eternal return. On the spine are stamped pentagrams pointing upwards which are the symbol of perfection and have been associated with magic and modern witchcraft.

The journal measures 7.5 x 8.3 inches (18.5 x 26 cm). It is filled with Fabriano artist paper, 114 pages (228 sides). The paper is beige, slightly textured, hand torn and thick, it has 200 g/m². It is acid free, perfect for writing and sketching in any media, even watercolor.
