Cream Leather Journal / Guest Book with tooled and hand painted decoration - Ivory Dreams

This leather journal is bound in ivory goatskin. It has a smooth texture and a very elegant look. I chose this very subtle contrast between the cream of the leather and the slightly darker tooled areas, with the monochrome accents of the central panels which were painted by hand to resemble marbled texture. The entire binding has a clean, fascinating look due to the difference in textures and soft contrasts. 

This is a large journal, it measures 7.3 x 10.2 inches (18.5 x 26 cm). It has 114 pages (228 sides) of artist quality paper (Fabriano Rusticus). The paper is warm white, hand torn and thick (200 gsm) being perfect for writing and sketching in any media, even watercolor.

The headbands were handsewn from grey and silver silk thread and create a beautiful model at the head and tale of the book. The endpages are made of hand marbled paper with black, brown and grey veins.

This book is an art object. Its classic design and elegance make it a journal that could equally serve as a journal, a wedding guest book, or a family heirloom to pass to the next generations.
