Handpainted Leather Binding, handmade journal, Astronomy themed, Outer Space

This one of a kind design binding is bound in black leather and painted and decorated by hand with a complex composition depicting an astronomical scene. The journal has a modern abstracted look, its design was created to create the impression of a map of the outer space. The covers are decorated by tooling and stamping and hand painted to create a game of textures and colors. Watch the video to see the entire process. 

The end pages are made of hand marbled paper with black and brown veins. The headbands are hand sewn from white and grey silk threads.

The book measures 7.5x10.2 inches (19x26 cm). It has 136 pages (272 sides) of Modigliani artist paper. The paper is warm white, slightly textured, hand torn and has 140 g/m² (for comparison, photocopy paper has 90 g/m²). It is acid free perfect for writing and sketching in any media, even watercolor. It could be used as a photoalbum or guestbook.
