Small leather journal with painted Illuminated miniature and gold tooled decoration - Aristologia and the Green Dragon

This small journal is hand bound in antiqued greenish leather and decorated with a detailed hand painted illuminated miniature on the front cover. The rest of the decoration of this mini notebook is tooled with gold foil to reassemble a medieval treasure. The painted theme is inspired by a imaginative illumination originally drawn on paper, from an Italian herbal manuscript from the end of the 15th century. I painted it over imitation gold leaf, sealed it and it is also protected by the raised border I build around it like a frame. 

The book measures 3.3 x 4.3 inches (8.5x11 cm). It has 120 pages (240 sides) of hand torn Conqueror Connoisseur 100% Cotton, warm white color. The endpapers are made of screen printed paper with gold geometric motifs on green background.

I created this journal in three copies so please note when you receive it that it might show small differences due to the handmade nature of this work.
