A New Artistic Journey: From Sketch to Press

I'm thrilled to share with you an exciting ongoing project that I'm doing with my friend and collaborator, the Turkish artist Murat Tezcan Demirbas. With Oak Press we are bringing together our skills to create a collection of artworks that include hand-drawn illustrations, etching intaglio prints, limited edition artist books and more. 

From different corners of the world, two artists are creating something together, and surprisingly, the process is incredibly smooth as we both value immensely our creative freedom. Each piece begins as a raw sketched idea on my desk, where I shape the imagery and storytelling. Then my concept moves into the skilled hands of Murat, who with his mastery, brings my idea to life, drawing everything in great detail and creating the final artwork through traditional engraving and printmaking techniques. 

We’re hoping to create a body of work that is both tactile and timeless, using traditional processes and old recipes that bring to life our shared vision for art.
