This old looking journal is made of orange brown leather with patina and various marks provenient from the original leather hide, which give it the charm of a book with history. The decoration of the cover features a double line tooled in black and gold around the edges and fleurons at the corners. The spine was covered in white leather which gives this book a medieval look, and was tooled with gold foil, which creates a subtle yet rich contrast with the white of the spine.
The journal measures 4.8x7 inches (12.3 x 18 cm). It has a total of 86 pages (168 sides) of Favini Prisma artist paper, thick (160 gsm) and perfect for sketching in ink and mixed media, even watercolor. This slightly textured paper is acid free, hand-torn and has a warm white color.
The endpapers are made of hand marbled paper in earthy red and brown tones. The headbands are hand sewn from brown and gold threads.
