Brown leather journal with blind tooled decoration, Monochrome Textures
This is a large blank book bound in high quality goatskin of a soft brown color. It shows the beautiful texture of the grain and it was finished with patina to look old. It is new, but has the personality and charm of a book with history. The design is very complex and detailed, reminding of the medieval tomes, when great care was paid to every aspect involved in the making of a book. Each small element that forms the design was blind tooled into the leather one at the time.
Its spine was made to resemble that of an old book, with raised bands and pannels where the decoration was blind tooled.
The book measures 7.5 x 8.3 inches (18.5 x 26 cm). It has 104 pages (208 sides) of Fabriano artist paper. The paper is warm white, slightly textured, hand torn and thick, it has 200 g/m². It is acid free, perfect for writing and sketching in any media, even watercolor. The edges of the book block have been given a brown color to look aged and thus fit the overall old look of this book.
The endpapers are made of hand marbled paper, brown with green splashes and black veins. The headbands are hand-sewn from brown and black linen thread.
I hope it will make a beautiful addition to your library!
