This journal is bound in a special way, in a technique that divides the front cover in two halves that open like a window to reveal the inside of the book. The binding is made in natural leather that was not dyed, it has a beautiful light cream color with slightly darker shades and the pale red accents of the heart. It has a feminine romantic look. I chose this elaborate decoration which I blind tooled into the leather to give the impression of lace, or perhaps of a stone sculpture where the main feature is the tactile, bi-dimensional perception. The heart symbol was dyed purple and given an antiqued finish.
The book measures 4.5x5.3 inches (11.5x 13.3 cm). It is filled with warm white cotton paper Conqueror Connoisseur 100% Cotton, warm white paper. The paper is hand thorn, acid free and will hold well ink and dry media.
The endpages are made of hand marbled paper with a red, black and brown veins. The notebook is closing in front with a natural leather stripe.
