This blank book is bound in black vegetable dyed goatskin and decorated by silver tooling with geometrical patters that is both modern and reminds of old-world craftsmanship. The tooling was done entirely by hand, each element at a time, using heated brass tools and silver foil.
This is a medium size journal that measures 6x8 inches (15.5 x 21 cm). It has 170 pages (340 sides) of Favini Shiro Alga paper, an ecological paper produced from algae in Venice Lagoon. The seaweed particles are visible on the surface to give a unique natural look and its ivory color makes it fit perfectly the overall old feel of this book. The paper is hand torn, has 120gsm, and it will hold well ink, dip pens, gel and ball pens, markers and any dry media.
The end pages are hand painted with a beautiful silver pattern on a black background. The headbands are hand sewn from black and silver thread.
