This book is bound in black vegetable dyed goatskin and decorated by silver tooling with geometrical patters that remind of old-world craftsmanship. I combined circles and rhombuses with a repeated flower pattern in the center in antique red. It has a bold, slightly gothic elegance.
This is a medium size notebook, measuring 6x8 inches (15.5 x 21 cm). It has 170 pages (340 sides) of Favini Shiro Alga paper, an ecological paper produced from algae in Venice Lagoon. The seaweed particles are visible on the surface to give a unique natural look and its ivory color makes it fit perfectly the overall old feel of this book. The paper is hand torn, has 120gsm, and it will hold well ink, dip pens, gel and ball pens, markers and any dry media.
The end pages are made of marbled paper with orange, red and black patterns. The headbands are hand sewn from black and silver thread.
