Large leather journal, Worn leather, Silver tooled decoration. The Old Book

This old looking journal is made of a worn piece of leather from an old stock of a leather manufacturer in Portugal. It is vegetable tanned and has a rich and dark brown red color and various marks prevenient from the manufacturing process and from the wear. It has the charm of a book with history. The decoration of the covers was kept to a minimum to allow the character and the passage through time of this piece to show. Contrasting, the spine was decorated with detailed foil tooling in the old style, and aged to suit the rest of this notebook.

The journal measures 7.5 x 8.3 inches (18.5 x 26 cm). It is filled with Fabriano artist paper, 114 pages (228 sides). The paper is beige, slightly textured, hand torn and thick, it has 200 g/m². It is acid free, perfect for writing and sketching in any media, even watercolor.

The endpapers are made of hand marbled paper with brown, orange, grey and silver veins. The headbands were sewn by hand with black and beige threads.
