This journal is hand bound in white leather and decorated by tooled in detail with gold foil to resemble a medieval treasure. The central frame features a diamond pattern that was hand painted in gold leather dye and the surrounding frame was also hand painted but with a soft pattern of marble veins on white background. A soft patina was applied around the edges to make this book look slightly aged,
The headbands were hand sewn from grey silk thread and gold metallic thread. The end papers are marbled paper in tones of grey, white and black.
It measures a little over 6x8 inches (16x21 cm). It has 150 pages (300 sides) of Favini Shiro Alga paper, an ecological paper produced from algae in Venice Lagoon. The seaweed particles are visible on the surface to give a unique natural look and its ivory color makes it fit perfectly the overall old feel of this book. The paper is hand torn, has 120gsm, and it will hold well ink, dip pens, gel and ball pens, markers and any dry media.
