Journals with lock and key - Part 1: Best sellers

I have been making journals with lock and key, or lockable diaries as I like to refer to them, since more than ten years. It's been a constant passion in my work and I love the challenge of finding new designs and original locking solutions, weather using the traditional lock and key, a padlock or another decorative closing system. Some of these journals have been so admired and requested that I now offer them on a regular basis or I can make them on demand. Such is the case of my most sold item, The Turquoise lock and key journal....

How to take care of your leather journal

How do you properly care for your leather journal or binding? This is a question that I sometimes get asked by my customers, so I'm thinking it might be good practice to include an instructional when I ship out their purchase. I normally listen to music or audiobooks while I work but when I tool these covers I work in silence and get lost in thoughts. I'm grateful to bookbinding for sometimes being a very kind and permissive craft. I plan to make these in more colors. Lately I have been working a lot with...

Number Six - a Collection of Special Bindings

This year I committed myself to create more artistic bindings, to let creativity play a bigger role in my work. That used to be the norm until I became a first time mom, a bit more than two years ago. Then something shifted and my priority and biggest passion became my son, who without a doubt is my most beautiful and successful work of art! This year however I discovered that artistic life and mommy life can coexist wonderfully, as a matter of fact they can nourish each other and help each other grow. So when I was presented with...
